COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is a survey
of the study of behavior and mental processes with emphasis on the scientific
nature of contemporary psychological investigation. Topics discussed include research methods,
the biology of behavior, sensation and perception, stress and adjustment,
learning, memory, cognition, motivation, emotion, life-span development of
behavior, personality, and abnormal behavior and its therapies, social
behavior, and individual differences.
Prerequisite: A passing score on the reading assessment exam.

1. From COD home page, click on myACCESS.
2. Click on Search for Credit Classes.
3. From the Term drop-down box select the term.
4. Choose your course from the Subjects drop-down menu.
5. In the Course # field, enter your course number.
6. In the Section field, enter the course section number if known.
7. From the Course Types drop-down menu select Flexible Learning.
8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on SUBMIT.
9. Click on the Section Name and Title link.
10. Click on Click here for prices of required textbook(s) and supplies and course material information will be displayed.

EVALUATION/GRADING
4 project papers, 4 unit exams, 1 comprehensive
final exam
All assignments (4 project papers, 4 unit exams, 1 comprehensive final
exam) are required in order to receive a course grade. When all assignments have been completed,
your grade will be determined by adding the total number of points that you
have earned on your project papers and your exams.
Projects and exams should be turned in throughout the term at a rate of approximately every three weeks for the Fall and Spring semesters and approximately every one and a half weeks for the Summer semester.
