Sentences
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Basic course in which students learn to write complete and varied sentences
that suit a variety of purposes.
Students learn the parts of speech; understand sentence grammar by
recognizing subjects, verbs, clauses, and phrases; and learn how to avoid
common sentence errors. Emphasis is on
writing clear, correct, and varied sentences and on how grammar principles
relate to effective communication.

A spiral-bound notebook for Imitative Writing assignments.
A pocket dictionary of your choice.
ORIENTATION/ATTENDANCE
Attendance required at weekly appointment.
EVALUATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE
Students will be evaluated by a combination of demonstrated competency of
the course objectives, completed assignments, and progress and mastery tests as
well as attendance and active course participation. Students may also be
required to visit the Writing Assistance Area during the term.
