Communications 0415 (Appointment) – Spelling II: Irregular Patterns and Words Often Confused

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Basic course that covers irregular spelling patterns for spelling words. Students practice spelling words that change their basic form, contain silent letters, or add letters; and learn commonly misunderstood words and homonyms. Using a multi-sensory approach, students apply spelling patterns by proofreading and editing exercises in their own writing. Course may be taken two times for credit.

Supplementary handouts and audio/print/computer materials in the Center for Independent Learning may be assigned by your instructor.

ORIENTATION/ATTENDANCE
Attendance required at weekly appointment.

EVALUATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE
Students will be evaluated by a combination of demonstrated competency of the course objectives, completed assignments, and progress and mastery tests as well as attendance and active course participation. Students may also be required to visit the Writing Assistance Area during the term.
