COURSE DESCRIPTION

Introduction to microcomputer operating systems. Provides an opportunity to work with the Microsoft Windows operating system command line. Includes the major components of an operating system, command syntax, disk format and management, internal/external commands, file manipulation, directory structure, files and disk maintenance, configuration and batch files, and network connectivity. 2 Credit Hours

EVALUATION/GRADING

 

Exams and Evaluations

The CIS 1160 course requires completion of 11 units and 4 tests. The following completion rules MUST be followed:

  1. Important
 Rules!The last day to submit Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, and Exam 1 for credit is mid-semester. (Refer to your Course Information Sheet for this date.) After mid-semester, you will receive zero points for Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, and Exam 1. You must submit this work, however, as a requirement of the course before the instructor will grade any other assignments or tests.  

2.   You can submit a maximum of two units in one calendar week.

3.   You can take a maximum of two exams in one calendar week.

4.   You must complete all unit assignments and exams by the Deadline Date. 

 

No exceptions to these rules will be made – please plan accordingly.  See the Course Map in Section 2 of this Handbook.
