COURSE DESCRIPTION

An overview of the computing field and its typical applications. Covers key terminology and components of computer hardware, software and operating systems. Other topics include systems development methods, management information systems, programming languages, communications, networks, application software, the Internet and career opportunities. Microcomputer applications include word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software in a Windows environment. 3 Credit Hours

Tests and Evaluations

The CIS 1150 course requires completion of 5 units. The following completion rules MUST be followed:

  1. Important
 Rules!The last day to submit Unit 1 (assignments and test) AND Unit 2 for points is mid-term.  After mid-term, Unit 1 and Unit 2 will BOTH receive zero points.
  2. A limit of two units can be submitted in one calendar week*.  
  3. A limit of two tests can be taken in a calendar week*.
  4. All assignments and tests must be completed by your Deadline Date. 

 

            * A calendar week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday.
