All-Inclusive Programs and Services
Each center for independent learning is like a "college within a college." Under one roof, you'll find these programs and helpful support services:
- A staff of professional educators concerned with your learning needs and interests help you complete your course successfully. They're available during regularly scheduled day, evening and some weekend hours at each center.
- Voice-mail, e-mail and fax links to 175 faculty members keep students connected.
- Counselors are available to offer confidential, personalized help in exploring your educational and career goals.
- Choose from a variety of learning formats: print, audio, video, computer-mediated, radio and TV broadcasts, and CD-ROM.
- Review a course syllabus before you register.
- You can purchase books by phone with a credit card, and the college bookstore will ship them to you via UPS.
- Academic skills courses for individuals or small groups: Refresh or develop your reading, math, English or study skills. You may also prepare for the GED at the off-campus centers.
- An Assessment and Testing office and lab: Benefit from flexible hours for completing assessments and tests, including pre-course, make-up, career and interest, demonstrated proficiency, ABE/ESL, and CLEP exams.
- Audio and video media are available for convenient check out or full-term rental, or they can be used for study right at the centers.
