Welcome to Spanish 1101 Internet, Elementary Spanish I. This course develops the ability to speak, understand, read, and write Spanish in a cultural and communicative context. Spanish 1101 Internet is for the beginning student with no prior experience in the language. This is a four-credit hour course that may not be repeated for credit.

Although learning Spanish via the Internet provides maximum flexibility, it is by no means a short cut to acquiring the language. Estimates are difficult due to the complex nature of language acquisition; however, the most successful students need to dedicate at least 8 to 10 hours a week to this course -- double that time during an intensive course sequence, such as the summer 8 week program.
