An Introduction to
a Happy and Good Life

We will study ethical theory and its application
from the perspective of diverse traditions from around
the world, both in their contemporary form as well
as from antiquity.
Course Objectives:
Students will sharpen their ability to:
- Discern ethical claims and arguments
- Recognize
classic ethical theories
- Recognize their own presence
and activity as moral agents
- Improve critical reading/comprehension
- Avoid common
pitfalls in their own moral reasoning
- Recognize
ethical issues in novel contexts
- Develop and hone
their critical thinking skills in the context of
ethical issues
