The goal of CIS 1310 (HTML and CSS) is the creation of Creation of effective web pages using Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The course includes web page and web site design concepts and preparation of graphics for the web, with the primary focus on implementation of the design. This on-line course combines textbook readings, textbook assignments, Internet readings, and hands-on computer work. CIS 1310 is a 3 semester hour course. CIS 1310 is intended for the beginning Web page developer. The prerequisites are CIS 1120 (The Internet) and CIS 1130 (Windows Basics) or CIS 1150 (Introduction to Computer Information Systems). Working knowledge of the Internet and WWW (search techniques, file downloads, decompressing files, Web navigation, using email, etc.) and Windows (create folder (subdirectory), copy files, move files, pathnames, etc.) is expected. Although you do not always need to be "online" while you are completing the tutorials or the assignments that are in the text book, you will need to be on line to access course materials and to do the Internet activities. |
