Students will explore surgical assisting fundamentals. Topics include surgical assisting role and responsibilities, perioperative microbiology, pharmacology, electrolytes, fluid, and shock, anesthesia principles, surgical site infections, hematological principles, and all-hazards preparation. Concepts of general and obstetric and gynecologic surgeries will also be included.
