College of DuPage
This is a 3 semester credit hour course covering topics from algebra with emphasis on applications. You will work on applied problems that contain real and relevant data from various fields of health, business and economics, life and physical sciences, social science, and areas of general interest such as sports and travel. Technology will be used to enhance the learning process. To increase students' understanding of the concepts through a visual means, graphs and models are integrated throughout the course.
An online course offers a great flexible learning alternative to the traditional classroom. You can work on the course at any time of the day and at any location you wish. Tests, including midterm and final exams, are taken in person at an approved testing center.
With the freedom and flexibility of the online environment comes responsibility. Students must be self-directed and self-motivated to succeed. It takes a real commitment and strong discipline to keep up with the course work. To be successful in this course, you must be ready to dedicate approximately 10 - 15 hours each week (with additional time required during the shortened summer semester) to reading the textbook, completing homework assignments, quizzes, projects and taking tests.
