Marketing 2230: Retailing

Retailing is the “Place” of the Marketing Mix.  In this course, students will study different retail strategies to sell service and manufacturer's products to consumers through the retail setting.  New developments in the retailing industry that drive sales and profits for both service and manufacturers will also be examined.   

Students will be introduced to many different retail careers, as well as companies that support retailers such as Unilever, Nestle, Apple, and Nike. 

Students will be expected to visit a variety of retail businesses to research different store layouts, locations, merchandising and promotional efforts. 

Prerequisite: Completion of Business 1100 recommended prior to enrollment.

This course is 3 credit hours.

Computer Experience and Equipment

Students interested in Marketing 2230 will need access to a computer with Internet capabilities. Students must also obtain a COD Library Card. For further information about computer experience and equipment requirements, students should consult the COD Online web pages.
