INTP 2104: Intro to Interpreting and Ethics

Students will be introduced to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and the Code of Professional Conduct (CPC). The role of the sign language interpreter in various work settings will be explored. The history and current models will be discussed.

Prerequisites

Sign 2101 or equivalent or concurrent enrollment in Sign 2101 and Sign 2102 or concurrent enrollment in Sign 2102 or equivalent or consent of instructor.

Technical Requirements

Students must have regular access to the Internet and a computer. Courses are administered through Blackboard, so students will also need a compatible OS and browser. A list of recommended software can be found here.
