French 1102: Elementary French II

Bienvenue!

Welcome to French 1102 Internet, Elementary French II.  This course continues to develop the ability to speak, understand, read, and write French in a cultural and communicative context. French 1102 Internet is for students who have successfully completed French 1101 or equivalent or one year of high school French.  This is a four-credit hour course that may not be repeated for credit. French 1102 Internet never meets in the classroom; all coursework and exams are completed online.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to demonstrate a basic communicative knowledge of:

Active class preparedness

Although learning French via the Internet provides maximum flexibility, it is by no means a shortcut to acquiring the language.   Estimates are difficult due to the complex nature of language acquisition; however, we have found that most successful students need to dedicate at least 8 to 10 hours a week to this course- double that time during an intensive course sequence, such as the summer 8 week program.

Independent study takes discipline and dedication. You are responsible for pacing your work throughout the semester and meeting all important due dates and deadlines. The most successful flexible learning students adhere to the course calendar due dates provided by the instructor and follow it faithfully. If you have never taken an independent study course before, please visit Succeeding in Internet Courses.
