An overview of a wide variety of experiences and methods for developing children's self-expression and helping them learn about the social world. Emphasizes the adult's responsibilities in the implementation of literacy, dramatic play, art, construction, social studies, music and movement.

Special Requirements:This is a hybrid course, so students will need to travel to campus to complete a portion of their required coursework.

Credit Hours

3 credit hours (2 lecture hours, 2 lab hours)


Students must have taken Early Childhood Education and Care 1100 with a grade of C or better or equivalent and Early Childhood Education and Care 1101 with a grade of C or better or equivalent.  

Technical Requirements

Students must have regular access to the Internet and a computer. Courses are administered through Blackboard, so students will also need a compatible OS and browser. A list of recommended software can be found here.
