Covers aspects of hardware support relating to personal computers (PCs) including system troubleshooting, system board, drive subsystems, memory, input/output devices, and multimedia.

Prepares the student for the CompTIA A+ exam.

Credit Hours

3 credit hours (2 lecture hours, 2 lab hours)


Students must have taken Computer and Internetworking Technologies 1100 with a grade of C or better, an equivalent course outside of COD, or have the consent of the instructor.

Technical Requirements

Students must have regular access to the Internet and a computer. Courses are administered through Blackboard, so students will also need a compatible OS and browser. A list of recommended software can be found here.
