Sociology 2230: Criminology3 Credit Hours
What would make someone do something like that? Criminology is an introductory course in the study of crime and criminal behavior, focusing on characteristics and theoretical explanations of patterns of criminality and society’s response to crime. This course highlights the causes of crime, criminal behavior systems, societal reaction to crime, and criminological methods of inquiry. This course will help prepare individuals who are interested or are already working in the fields of sociology, criminal justice, social work, or psychology. Students who register for this course should expect to spend from 9 - 12 hours a week working on their selected reading materials, course assignments and completing online discussions.
