Math 0482:
Foundations for College Math II

Welcome to Math 0482 online.

This is a 5 semester credit hour course covering topics from elementary and intermediate algebra. Topics include factoring, rational expressions, radicals and rational exponents, complex numbers, quadratic equations, variation, absolute value and functions.

An online course offers a great flexible learning alternative to the traditional classroom. You can work on the course at any time and location. However, students must be self-directed and self-motivated to succeed. To be successful in this course, you must be ready to dedicate approximately 15 - 20 hours each week (with additional time required during the shortened summer semester) on course work. You will need to read the textbook, complete homework assignments and take quizzes and tests on a weekly basis. Weekly deadlines must be met to ensure successful completion of the course. Tests, including the midterm and final exams, are taken in person at an approved testing center.

The prerequisite of the course is Math 0481 (or college equivalent) with a grade of C or better, or, a qualifying score on the mathematics placement test.

If you are considering enrolling in an online course, you are encouraged to complete the short Self-Assessment Survey to discover if you have the necessary academic characteristics to be successful in an online learning environment.
