This criminal justice course provides an overview of the development and history of the federal Constitution and Bill of Rights; substantive content of the amendments and corresponding state provisions; and emphasis on recent court interpretations and trends.

Should I register for this course?

Yes. Particularly if you are:

obtaining a degree or certificate in Criminal Justice (this course is required);
considering a career in law, whether as a lawyer, a paralegal or another capacity;
intrigued by the history of the United States and the development of its foundation;
curious about how the U.S. Constitution has been interpreted and implemented;
seeking knowledge and information to become an active citizen.

There is a required text for this course. The final grade is based upon points earned through the completion of chapter assignments, exams and a research paper on a constitutional law topic of the student’s choice.
