Welcome to the Cosmetology Program at College of DuPage

Experiencing a growth rate of 10 to 20 percent per year, an exciting Cosmetology industry can offer you a stable profession with salaries for full-time salon professionals in Illinois ranging from an attractive $30,000 to $50,000 per year.

And what a profession! Hairdressers, hairstylists and cosmetologists provide beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, styling and coloring hair and beauty care and advice. Cosmetologists may train to give manicures, pedicures, scalp and facial treatments, makeup analysis, and cleaning and styling services for wigs and hairpieces.

In 2004, barbers, cosmetologists and other personal appearance workers held 790,000 jobs. Almost half of these workers are self-employed and either own salons or lease booths or chairs in a salon. Many trained cosmetologists move into management, distribution and sales for major cosmetic and salon chains.

College of DuPage’s expert Cosmetology faculty and staff at the Addison Regional Center will unleash your imagination, creativity and expertise as they prepare you for a stimulating and rewarding career!
