The gradebook section simply is not efficient. I dislike putting my students grades on BB simply because it takes so much longer that a standard Excel spreadsheet. Is there anyway to make this more efficient?

Is there any way to get rid of system announcements about availability or performance on the Announcements page, especially ones that have been sitting there a while? My students have told me that they haven't always seen announcements I've put up for them because they see, for instance, an announcement that the system was down for seven minutes the night before, and so they assume it's down and inaccessible for them. Setting aside the fact that the students should be a little smarter about such things, the announcements can indeed be a distraction. Is there any way to remove them? Thanks.

I can't remember if I submitted this one before (forgive me if I have), but I really would like a way to send private feedback to a user about their discussion forum posts when I am grading them through the grade feature in the Disc. Board.
Right now, the very klutzy way to do this is to assign a grade via the grading option in the discussion board, leave the board and go to the Grade Center, scroll through the huge Grade Center to find the grade you just assigned, and then click to "Add Feedback to User." Then, you have to make your way ALL THE WAY back to the grading part of the Discussion Board to move to the next user. It shouldn't be this hard!

I am unable to see the total points for the TOTAL column. I had thought that by clicking "column statistics" for this column, I was able to see the total points. As of today, it is showing "Varies by student" for this field.
Please allow us to see that information again.

It would be useful and consistent if we were able to enter scores in the discussion board that were higher than the point value. For example, forum is worth 10 points, but I want to give 15 points for the extra effort. Grading within the discussion forum, this isn't possible. If I enter the grades directly in the grade center, it takes it.

Can we populate the grade column, "Student ID" with information? As of today, that column has been empty.
It would be helpful for faculty that are downloading the gradebook, to have additional identifying information.
