DuPAGE OPERA THEATRE (DOT) is a resident professional company at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage. In its 28-year development, DOT has evolved as an important component of the regional opera scene in the United States. Repertoire over the years has been chosen from popular favorites: The Magic Flute, Carmen, Tosca, La Boheme, Madame Butterfly, Cosi fan tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, La Traviata; from traditional but less familiar works: La Rondine, Louise, Giuditta, Paisiello's The Barber of Seville, The Merry Wives of Windsor; and from newer 20th century works: The Boor, Jenufa, Lazarus, The Village Singer, Pelleas and Melisande. DOT draws from leading artists in the talent-rich greater Chicago area. The college's professional, technical and design staff, guest designers and directors, a professional orchestra (New Philharmonic) and one of the finest opera spaces in the country have combined to build a reputation of excellence.
