This program will enable you to earn an architectural degree and become a licensed architect. As an architect, you will be responsible for the planning, designing and oversight of the construction of a building. This degree leads to transfer, typically to the junior year of a professional program. This Pre-Architecture associate’s degree is appropriate if you plan to transfer to professional architecture programs. Program requirements may vary depending on the transfer institution, so you should consult with an adviser for elective selections.

“But I absolutely believe that architecture is a social activity that has to do with some sort of communication or places of interaction, and that to change the environment is to change behavior.”

– Thom Mayne,
Pritzker Prize winner, 2005

“The profession of architecture is an adventurous one. It is a profession on the edge, poised between art and science, between the courage to invent and the prudence of history. Architecture is the most wonderful profession in the world. Because this is a small planet, where everything has already been discovered, designing is still one of the greatest possible adventures.”

– Renzo Piano,
Architect,
Pritzker Prize winner, 1998
