College Success Skills
College of DuPage is committed
to increasing students’ chances at academic
success. Knowing that an academic career can place many demands on students’ time,
both in and out of the classroom, College Success Skills show students how to
transition to college life with realistic expectations.
Education 1115, College Success Skills, helps maximize potential. Students learn
now to manage time more efficiently, approach test taking confidently and become
better prepared to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program.
College Success Skills provides essential tools for success in college. Topics
covered include the basics of note-taking, testing strategies, time management,
goal setting, library orientation and an introduction to services available on
campus that help students along the way. In addition, students can put their
newly acquired skills to use through various activities around campus. These
activities also help students to connect with the college community.
Research shows that courses geared toward development of college success skills
provide a solid foundation for success. This class meets at different times of
the day and evening.
