Degree
Audits
Students or advisers can run an unofficial
degree audit online using the student’s ID and Personal Identification
Number (PIN) number by following the link above. An official
audit of all coursework, completed or in progress, as applicable to any specific
degree or certificate must be ordered through the Records office (SRC 2015, ext.
3022).
Degrees
The College of DuPage offers six degree programs: Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate
in Science (A.S.), Associate in Engineering Science (A.E.S.), Associate in Fine
Arts (A.F.A.), Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) and Associate in General
Studies (A.G.S). Students who have chosen a major can be directed to a faculty
adviser.

Verification
Verification of enrollment and academic status required for auto insurance discounts,
health insurance coverage, education and loan deferments, etc. is provided by

Part-time faculty directory information is available using Outlook. See Public

by academic department can also be found through the “Academics” web
page by selecting the program of interest from the drop down menu in the center
of the screen. For most programs, advisers will be listed at the bottom of the
page.
Financial Aid/Financial
Aid Code
The Financial Aid office provides information to students regarding the many
ways they may obtain financing for education. Students asking for the C.O.D.
code required on the Financial Aid Application should be given the following
number: 006656. The Financial Aid web site includes a guide to Understanding
Financial Aid, which may be helpful for advisers and students seeking additional
information.
FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 was designed to protect
the privacy of student education records. FERPA governs (1) release of education
records and (2) access to education records. For more information, contact Suzanne

Forgiveness Policy
The Forgiveness Policy is intended for those students who have experienced previous
academic difficulty at C.O.D. and now wish to build an academic record that is
not weakened by past failures.
Full-time Status
Students who carry 12 credit hours or more are considered full-time. Courses
below 1000 count toward total load. See Records office, SRC 2015, (630)
942-2431 for verification.
GED
College of DuPage offers both GED
preparation and GED
testing.
G.P.A. Calculators
The University of Maryland shows
students how to achieve desired G.P.A. based on current G.P.A. plus
additional courses at higher G.P.A.
Image-ination shows students
how anticipated grades will impact G.P.A., what grades are needed in
order to raise G.P.A. to desired level, and how many credits at what
grade level will produce the desired G.P.A.

High
School Articulation
The College of DuPage High School Articulation Program allows high
school students to receive college credit for courses taken at the
secondary level.

School Summer School
Current high school students can earn high school credit at C.O.D.
during summer sessions.
Honors
program
Students who meet the general eligibility criteria may apply for a
permit to register for the Honors Program or individual honors courses.
IAI (Illinois Articulation Initiative)
Provides information regarding the Transferable General Education Core
Curriculum available at participating Illinois institutions.
IAI Participating Schools
A list of two year and four year public and private schools participating
in the IAI compact agreement.
Instructor’s Permission to Register for
a Class
When a class has already met, or is full, students may still be able
to register for the class with the instructor’s permission. Students need to obtain
the permission in written format from the instructor. It is not necessary that
the permission is provided on the official form, However, it must include the
instructor’s signature and applicable course information.
