I have had experience working as a counselor
at many different educational levels from elementary school to
a university. College of DuPage is by far my favorite because there
is such diversity in our students, and I enjoy helping students
of varying ages, backgrounds and goals in their attainment of educational,
career and personal success. As part of my responsibilities at
C.O.D., I serve as liaison to the Academic Alternatives Division,
including ABE/ESL/GED, the Adult Fast Track, and Centers for Independent
Learning. Another role I relish is that of instructor in the A.A.
degree program of the Adult Fast Track. I help students prepare
for their intense Fast Track experience by teaching a College Success
Skills for Adults course which is combined with a computer course.
Additionally, I serve on the Adult Fast Track Steering Committee.
Whether I am counseling, teaching or serving in any other role,
I am dedicated, patient, caring and supportive. Recently, I was
selected as the Outstanding Faculty of the Year from Student Affairs/Library/Community
Affairs.
I received my B.S. from Northern Illinois University, my M.A. in
counseling from Arizona State University, and have continued with
extensive coursework in adult learning.
