Business and Professional
Institute
The Business and Professional Institute (BPI) at College of DuPage provides businesses
and organizations with assistance and training support through customized contract
programs. Individuals who are seeking assistance with a small business should
contact the Small Business Development
Center.

Student Activities.

Maps
Map of the main campus in Glen Ellyn, including building layouts. Links are available
for maps of the three regional learning centers and five centers for independent
learning.
Career
Development and Personal Growth Courses
C.O.D. offers Education 105, Career Development; Education 110, Interpersonal
Skills for Life and Work; and Education 115, College Survival Skills. Information
is available for these courses on the Counseling web site.

The Career Services Center offers various career development resources that assist
students in assessing, investigating and marketing their
careers.
• Cooperative
Education
The Cooperative Education and Internship program provides a beneficial partnership
involving employers, students and College of DuPage. Students earn academic credit
for work-based learning in a job related to their
major field of study.
• DuPage Executive Network (DEN)
This service is provided to senior level executives throughout the Chicago metropolitan
area, in pre-through-post career transition, offering camaraderie, fellowship,
and a professional organization dedicated to
assisting with transition.

Learning
This program focuses on increasing critical, reflective thinking; developing
civic and social responsibility; and connecting students with their
community.
Career
Testing
Students interested in career counseling or career interest and personality inventories
should contact the Advising and Counseling office.
Catalog
The C.O.D. catalog lists specific academic procedures, services, course descriptions
and requirements for all associate degrees and certificates.
Catalogs for Other Schools
More than 650 catalogs are available at the College and Career Information Center
(CCIC) in the Library. The Counseling and Advising Center has reference catalogs
for several Illinois colleges.

for Adult Literacy/GED Preparation, (CAL)
The GED Preparation program is designed for adults who have good reading skills
and need to prepare to take the GED Test to earn a high school equivalency certificate.
Center for Independent
Learning
Classes offered through the Center for Independent Learning allow students seeking
a flexible, self-directed, yet assisted program to complete coursework on a customized
schedule. There are four other CIL’s in addition to the center on the main
campus in Glen Ellyn: Glen Ellyn | Bloomingdale | Lombard | Naperville | Westmont
Center
for Youth Education
Programs include weekend enrichment classes, after-school and holiday programs,
languages, sports camps, online courses, Career Exploration Camps, Science Plus
Summer Camps, High School Summer School, and SAT and ACT Test Preparation.
Certificates
Certificate courses of study are designed for students not pursuing an associate's
degree but who are interested in taking technical courses needed to enter a field
of employment or to update current skills. Some courses taken in a certificate
program may be applied to a degree in the same field of study.

Child Care Services
Child Care Services provides childcare for children ages 3 to 5. Childcare is
available only for children of students during the time the student is attending
a class or lab on the main campus in Glen Ellyn.
Citizenship
Free citizenship
courses for adults prepare individuals to take the test for
U.S. citizenship.
CLEP
Testing
This national program was established by the Educational Testing Service and
provides college-level, content-specific tests given to determine competency.
CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) tests are closely tied to specific introductory
courses in particular fields. There is a fee for testing and recording.

on the upper level of the Library)
Students can find information on choosing colleges or careers, finding financial
aid, preparing for specialized exams, and securing employment. Staff is available
to assist students while the Library is open.

Agreements and Chargeback Agreements
College of DuPage has special agreements with neighboring community colleges
whereby students in this district may enroll in an Associate in Applied Science
degree or certificate program not available at C.O.D. at in-district rates.
Counseling and Advising Services
The office located in SRC 2044 provides advising for students on a walk-in basis
and counseling either by appointment or as walk-in.
