Nurse Aide Competency Exam

College of DuPage offers an eight week BNA course that provides both classroom and clinical education. Following successfully completion of this course, you must pass a state registry exam order to work as a BNA. Nursing assistants/aides working in licensed and or certified skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities and home health agencies in the state of Illinois must be certified.

The Illinois Nurse Aide Testing Program at SIU/Carbondale is responsible for the written competency exam as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Contact them for information about deadlines, fees, the exam, and how to register for a test. College of DuPage is a test site for this exam.
