2017 Black History Month Student Essay Contest

“My alma mater was books, a good library … I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity.” — Malcolm X

Expressions

All COD students are invited to participate in the 2017 Black History Month Expressions contest.

Select a quotation by a great African-American that is relevant to the 2017 Black History Month theme “Educational Achievement and Success in the Black Community.”

Guided by the quotation you have selected, express yourself. Your expression can take any form—an essay, a story, a piece of art or music, a poem, or any other form of expression.
