Delivery Formats
Sections:
Flexible Learning courses are delivered in the following formats: self -paced Flexible courses (some with weekly appointments) and group instruction.
Self-Paced Flexible Learning Courses
Generally there are no attendance requirements for students who take Flexible Learning courses. While the design of these courses allow students to work freely at their own pace, faculty are available for guidance during their scheduled hours in the Learning Commons, without an appointment. In Flexible Learning courses, students read the textbook, review the media components, complete assignments or projects, and use a study guide to reinforce and review the material. Printed course materials that pace you through your course are made available online in Blackboard.
Appointment-Based Courses
During a regularly scheduled weekly appointment with an instructor, students are coached and encouraged through their coursework. Between appointments, using the syllabus as a guide to textbook and supplementary materials, students work on their own.
Group Instruction
In foreign language courses a weekly group session with a skilled language instructor provides the opportunity to use and perfect newly acquired language skills with other students.
