Literacy 0422 - Beginning Writing II

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Writing fundamentals course for emergent writers. Students will generate their own topics and make decisions about which pieces to work on more extensively. Students will begin to write sentences of varied structures; incorporate learned vocabulary into their writing; correctly spell words with regular spelling patterns and use logic to guide their spelling of unfamiliar words; and use correct punctuation for sentence boundaries. This course may require visits to the Writing and Reading Assistance Area. This course can only be taken on a pass/fail basis. This course may be taken three times for credit.

3. From the Term drop-down box select the term.
4. Choose your course from the Subjects drop-down menu.
5. In the Course # field, enter your course number.
6. In the Section field, enter the course section number if known.
7. From the Course Types drop-down menu select Flexible Learning.
8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on SUBMIT.
9. Click on the Section Name and Title link.
10. Click on Click here for prices of required textbook(s) and supplies and course material information will be displayed.

ORIENTATION/ATTENDANCE

Attendance required at weekly appointment.

EVALUATION/GRADING

1. At least four compositions that show planning, revising, and editing
2. Satisfactory completion of assignments, including evidence of frequent writing
3. Performance on tests and quizzes
4. Instructor observation of student progress
5. Attendance and participation
