College of DuPage has many fun-filled and engaging summer camp programs for students entering kindergarten through grade ten. These include:

Explorer Camps, Grades K to 6

Join us for an unforgettable summer of fun! Themes change weekly and include educational components taught by endorsed teachers, art projects, physical activities and thematic field trips on most Fridays.

Camps run Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Explorer Campers are divided into groups based on age.

A Typical Day in Explorer Camp

7 to 8:25 a.m.
Supervised play during drop-off and sign-in. Campers engage in fun enrichment activities, including games, books, drawing and ping-pong.

8:30 to 11:20 a.m.
Camp groups rotate between three fifty-minute activities: two different interactive classes based on the theme of the week and led by licensed teachers, and games and activities led by youth aides inside the camp break room or outside, weather permitting.

11:20 to 12:30 p.m.
Lunchtime and supervised play! Youth aides supervise campers and summer program students during lunch, then bring the children outside to play, weather and time permitting.

12:30 to 3:20 p.m.
Camp groups rotate between three fifty-minute activities: art class taught by an endorsed teacher aligned with the theme of the week, games and activities lead by youth aides, and organized physical activity, indoors or outdoors.

3:30 to 5 p.m.
Lesson or activity created and led by counselor trainees with the supervision and assistance of youth aides.

5 to 6 p.m.
Supervised play during pick-up and sign-out.

Field trips are offered most Fridays. Locations are determined during each week of camp and are dependent on the weather and number of campers. Previous field trip locations include the Field Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, the Garfield Conservatory and more. On Fridays with no scheduled field trip, campers participate in games, craft projects and physical activities on campus.

Counselor Training Program, Grades 7 to 10

Counselor trainees work closely with Explorer campers and have the opportunity to organize and lead age-appropriate activities while under the supervision of a youth aide. The program runs Monday to Thursday in two-week intervals between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Teen X-treme Camps, Grades 7 to 10

Teen X-Treme camps offer older students all-day experiences featuring hot topics such as 3D Modeling and Printing, Video Game Design, Art Studio, LEGO® Robotics and more. Camps run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
