Phlebotomy Exam Review
Phlebotomists are an integral part of the medical team who draw blood samples for testing and diagnostics. Prepare for the ASCP Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP PBT) certifying exam with this comprehensive review and update 12-hour course. In addition to preparing you for essential topics on the exam, theory and procedures are covered.
Materials covered include circulatory system, medical terminology, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, non-blood specimens, special testing, quality assurance and quality control, safety, infection control, patient confidentiality, professional ethics and legal issues. A simulated practice exam is included.
Participants must have completed the phlebotomy certificate program at College of DuPage or have experience as a phlebotomist.
The career outlook for phlebotomists and clinical laboratory technicians, in general,
is excellent. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 13 percent growth in this
occupation through the year 2020. Salaries vary based on a variety of factors and
can range from $24,210 to $56,040.
