Be prepared to offer the necessary assistance in a medical emergency. College of DuPage offers several CPR programs.

CPR: AHA Health Care Provider BLS

Health care professionals develop the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course is for health care providers only, i.e., physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, respiratory therapists, physician's assistants, medical or nursing students in training and other allied health personnel. Successful completion of a written/skills exam is required for the course completion card. A textbook is required. Instructor: W. Vidmar

American Red Cross Pet CPR/First Aid
Pets are an important part of the family, but what would you do if your dog or cat had a medical emergency? Do you know what you should or shouldn't do? This four-hour pet first aid class provides you with valuable, up-to-date information and skills to help you care for your pet. Training includes lecture, demonstration and hands-on skill practice using dog and cat manikins. Fee includes American Red Cross Certificate, book/DVD, materials for bandaging and breathing guard. No prior experience is necessary. Students must be 18 years old or older to attend. Dress comfortably for an enjoyable time. There will be no live pets during class. Maximum 10 students. Must enroll two weeks before date to be registered for certification and materials. Please indicate cat or dog at registration.
