Special Programming for Plus 50 Community Members
Many adults ages 50 and over are choosing to return to the workforce, change careers or explore academic study. College of DuPage Continuing Education has developed a series of streamlined classes in the following areas: computer skills, career search, volunteerism and self-discovery.
Our Plus 50 instructors design these courses with the rich experiences and varied skills of adult learners in mind. Learning is directed toward the tools and skills necessary for a Plus 50 student's next step. Most courses are offered at special prices and are scheduled with an adult's busy schedule in mind.

Career Search for Plus 50
Under the guidance of an expert career coach, update your resume, practice interviewing and negotiating skills, and develop a professional LInkedIn profile. Learn about the resources available to you at College of DuPage and within the broader community. This class is offered at a minimal charge to students age 50 and over. Registration is required.i
Computer Skills Assessment Camp for Plus 50
Evaluate your computer skills under the guidance of an experienced and patient instructor. Determine if further study and practice is for you as you build confidence and competence. Set clear goals for where you want your skills to be—and develop a plan for how to get there.
Beginning Computer Skills Plus 50
Enhance your confidence and competence through patient, hands-on instruction and review.
Continued Computer Skills Plus 50, Part II
A second part to Beginning Computer Skills, this course helps you build on skills learned to take your confidence and competence to the next level.
Intermediate Computer Skills for Plus 50, Part III
A third part to Beginning Computer Skills, introducing word processing principles and techniques and advanced web searches.
Job Training Opportunities for Plus 50
National Able presents paid job training opportunities for seniors in our community. Come learn what's available and how College of DuPage and National Able can work with you to help you achieve your job training and career goals.
Self-Discovery for Plus 50
Evaluate your past accomplishments, current interests and skills, as well as your future goals, in a friendly and supportive environment. Designed for the adult who is returning to school, entering the workforce, or exploring volunteer opportunities, this workshop explores some assessment tools, including writing exercises to help you uncover your true interests. Develop an awareness of yourself and your goals for the next step.
Volunteerism for Plus 50
DuPage County offers a multitude of opportunities for you to give back to the community—and some of these placements even pay a wage. Come learn what's out there, who needs your help and where to start this rewarding endeavor. Giving DuPage presents this informative free session.
