About
the Program
The
Hospitality Administration at College of DuPage is always cooking up
excitement in its Foodservice, Culinary Arts and Hotel/Motel Management
courses. An expert faculty and staff will prepare you for a career in
an industry that continues to grow in opportunity and importance.
Careers
A
career in the hospitality industry is a profession. Those who acquire
professional credentials distinguish themselves as being highly skilled,
trained, motivated and career-minded. In an industry that now employs
more than 10.2 million people, including 600,000 higher-paying management
positions, full- and part-jobs opportunities are expected to expand
even further by 2005.
And think of the possibilities! Work for hotels, restaurants, private
clubs, convention centers or cruise lines. Imagine a career as a front-line
manager, supervising a health club or a front desk. Mid-level management
careers include executive chefs, kitchen managers, catering directors,
reservations managers, convention services managers or security directors.
With the right skills and education, upper management careers include
directors of sales and marketing, food and beverage directors or even
CEO/business owners! And these jobs are available close to home or in
such diverse locales as Paris, Cancun or Monte Carlo.

Accreditation
A.C.F. (American
Culinary Federation)
The College of DuPage Hospitality Administration program is accredited
by the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute Accrediting
Commission. To achieve this status, a culinary school must establish
and continuously meet the standards of the accrediting body.
By attending a culinary school that has been accredited by the American
Culinary Federation, you will receive a level of education that is of
the highest caliber. Many of our students join their local chapters
of the A.C.F. as a junior member, and the advantages are numerous. For
example, you are entitled to automatic certified cook status upon graduation,
and scholarships are offered throughout the year. Please contact Chris
Thielman for full details.
College of DuPages program is also acknowledged by The Educational
Foundation of The National Restaurant Association as a partner in education.
The classes you take at College of DuPage not only can gain you a specialized
degree or certificate but also can gain you individual certificates
of completion from The Educational Foundation of The National Restaurant
Association.
