Admissions Requirements
12 quarter hours of previous college credit
2.75 GPA
You are eligible to participate in the Salzburg Study Abroad program
if you have completed at least 12 quarter hours of college work and
have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better. You must be
a full-time student (minimum 15 credit hours, maximum 18 hours) with
courses taught in English. Although no previous knowledge of German
is required, you are expected to take a German course during the semester.
The study program is offered by C.O.D. in association with the Illinois
Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP), and affiliated
with Salzburg College.
Program fee (approximate):
$11,815 (per semester)
Included: Tuition at Salzburg College, full room and board (3 meals
daily), two major field trips: Germany for one week and Vienna for
five days, as well as day trips, social and cultural activities, local
excursions and course related field trips.
Not included (all costs are estimated): passport
($65), transatlantic transportation ($750), daily bus transportation
to campus (for those students who do not live within walking distance,
$120), personal laundry expenses ($50), meals other than breakfast
in Vienna ($80), personal expenses ($2,200), Visa (no fee)
Other optional costs: Skiing class ($300); ski rental ($60); hiking,
biking, rafting courses ($130); cooking class ($20); supplies for art
class ($50); photography class ($50)
