Offered monthly, this seminar begins with a two-hour video lecture followed by a live Q&A discussion, providing essential information for anyone thinking of launching a business. Topics discussed will include risks/rewards of small business, alternative ways to get into business, organizational structure, purpose of the business plan, realities of financing a business and more. While there is no cost to attend this seminar, pre-registration is required. QuickBooks Basics
Designed for the person new to or simply exploring QuickBooks as a bookkeeping system, this session presumes limited or no experience with QuickBooks or similar software programs. Participants will learn basic accounting terminology, bookkeeping/record keeping processes, financial statement construction, an introduction to QuickBooks products and utilities, navigating the system and how to set up basic accounts and generate reports. The seminar is held in our Center for Entrepreneurship computer lab with certified QuickBooks instructors.

Designed for the person who has recently purchased QuickBooks and is in the early stages of setting up their systems, this session includes setting up or refining your chart of accounts, making deposits and paying bills with QuickBooks, logging entries, balancing accounts, generating financial reports, entering and tracking jobs, customers, vendors and items as well as setting up, tracking and reconciling credit card accounts. This is an opportunity to explore various accounts that can be tracked with QuickBooks.
