Sustain and Reclaim: Spring Day of Action
Tuesday, April 17, 2018, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Student Services Center (SSC), Atrium
To recognize Earth Week, COD Cares Action Heroes will be doing their part to protect Mother Earth.
- No need to register. Stop by and participate in any of the following activities designed by COD faculty!
- Classes are welcome.
Wear your Action Hero shirt or stop by the event to get one!
ACTION STATIONS:
BUTTERFLY BALLOONS:
- Step 1: Fill biodegradable balloons with milkweed seeds.
- Step 2: Launch balloons at 12:45 p.m.!!!
- Step 3: Watch for bright wings and blooms this summer!
SEED STARTERS:
Plant seeds in toilet paper rolls for COD's community garden.
KEYS FOR CONSERVATION:
Sort keys and small metal objects for recycling.
WILLOW WORKS:
Prepare willow branches from COD's campus to use for weaving baskets.
SUPER CRAYONS:
Prep crayons be made into Super Crayons for children with special needs.
DONATION STATIONS FOR RECYCLING:
Please bring all donated items to the Community Relations office (BIC 1D04) by end of business on Monday, April 16th or to the event.

Student Sustainability Event: Wednesday, April 18th
Please join us for a free screening of "The True Cost" on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. in the Health and Science Center, Room 1234. As part of the Sustainability Film and Discussion Series, this documentary exposes the true story of clothing, from what we wear and who makes it to the impact the industry has on our world.
We will be collecting used jeans to distribute to people in need who are without shelter.
