Description of Organization:
The West Suburban Community Pantry offers food for the hungry and resources to empower persons to improve their quality of life. Our vision is a community without hunger.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Many opportunities exist to help eradicate hunger in our community. Volunteers will
work directly with our clients, filling, sorting and distributing food orders. Those
same days from 12:30PM -2:30PM work
behind the scenes, stocking the Pantry shelves. Volunteers also needed to pick up donations from local merchants and grocery stores on a weekly basis, usually in the morning. Cleaning crews are needed Monday, Wednesday, Friday, to clean the office and food warehouse.
Administrative/Clerical help needed Monday, Wednesday, Friday –
9:00AM-12:00PM or 12:00PM-4:00PM.
All students must complete the volunteer application form online at www.wcpinc.org and schedule and attend one orientation session.
