Description of Organization:
People Educating People (PEP) is the volunteer component of the Adult Education and English Language Acquisition (ELA) department at College of DuPage. PEP has been supporting adult learners since 1982.
Description of Service Learner Role:
PEP volunteers primarily assist instructors as classroom tutors. PEP tutors work with adult students one-to-one and in groups (typically two to five students) in the following classes: reading, writing and math for persons without a high school diploma and ELA.
Commitment to at least once a week for the semester, for a total of 20 hours or more.
