Summer Season: April 1 to October 31

Buildings open for public tours: Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.

Winter Season: November 1 to May 31

Buildings open for elementary school tours: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Description of Organization:

Naper Settlement is an outdoor history museum that collects and interprets the history of Naperville. The Museum's mission is to create community by connecting visitors to Naperville's history through engaging and unique experiences. Naper Settlement includes 30 historic structures on 12 acres, over 50,000 objects in the collection, a separate collections management facility, six large annual events, and welcomes over 118,000 visitors. Naper Settlement is also nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.

Description of Service Learner Role:

Roles include special event volunteer involvement, education curriculum, interpretive programming, event management, data management, administrative services, collections management, marketing, and more.

Organization Requirements:

Skills required for volunteers include being a good communicator, team worker, arrive punctually and be committed to follow through on the agreed upon project. Other skills may be required depending on the project.
