Balanced Lifestyles is the Employee Wellness program at College
of DuPage. This program is designed to improve the health and well-being
of each and every employee. Our goal is to assist individuals in creating
the lifestyle changes they would like to make in their life. Each employee
has the following tools and programs available to them:
Health Power Profile
This comprehensive Health Risk Assessment (HRA), offered by Wellness,
Inc. of Naperville, gives participants a "snapshot" of their
current health. The entire HRA takes only 20 minutes to complete and is
offered during the college's annual Wellness Fair each February. Tests
included blood pressure, body composition via the Futrex system (this
new technology requires no pinching), a fasting blood test, and a lifestyle
analysis.
Wellness, Inc. keeps the individual's personal test results confidential.
Within two to three weeks after the screening, results are sent directly
to your home. The college only receives aggregate statistical information
to help evaluate and develop wellness programming.
"Getting Healthwise"
Receive up-to-date health information in an easy-to-read format through
the self-care manual, the Healthwise Handbook. This book brings back the
responsibility of your health to you and your family. This manual contains
information on more than 180 health care concerns as well as a variety
of wellness information to help you take care of your family. Here's to
your health!
Departmental Team-Building Programs
By encouraging co-workers to live a healthy lifestyle, these programs
assist departments to look at health and wellness in a whole new way.
Through fun and interactive departmental programs such as learning how
to manage stress on the job, taking care of yourself so you can feel like
a million, and other wellness topics, participants also foster improved
employee morale and increased productivity.
