Harvesting for DuPage Hungry

Student Aimee Du Jua of Bensenville gently inspects a red cabbage leaf growing beautifully at the College of DuPage Community Garden. Du Jua’s efforts are part of a Service Learning project at the college that combines classroom learning with community service. This fall, college donated hundreds of bags of fresh, organic produce to the People’s Resource Food Pantry in Wheaton as part of the program. For more information, call (630) 942-2123. College of DuPage Hosts ‘ Break in the Silence’ Seminar

AIDS memorial quilt


Students at College of DuPage read words of love and loss on the AIDS memorial quilt at a recent AIDS and HIV awareness seminar held at College of DuPage. The college’s Service Learning program worked with Canticle Ministries in Wheaton and Debt AIDS Trade Africa (DATA) to develop the “Break the Silence” conference, which provided educational materials and displays for students and community members on the prognosis, treatment, prevention and other socio-cultural AIDs and HIV-related issues.
