Co-op/Internship Program On-line Orientation

• Preparing to interview:  Your efforts to find a position should result in invitations to interview. Interviewing effectively is a skill that must be developed. View information on preparing for interviews here.

• Assemble a career portfolio: Many students bring a career portfolio to interviews containing a resume, letters of recommendation, work samples and more. Download information on compiling a career portfolio here.

• Follow up and follow through:  Send a brief thank you note within 24 hours of an interview. Express your appreciation and continued interest. It is good business practice to contact the interviewer if you do not hear back at the expected time, or after 2 weeks if no time frame was given.

Keep searching: Don’t give up until you find a co-op/internship experience. Be persistent!  Work-based learning is a tremendous investment in your future success!
