• Research Management
• Resume/Portfolio Development
• Networking
• Interviewing Effectiveness

This assessment will ask you to answer questions that identify your strengths and areas for improvement as it relates to your career transition. The results will guide you to available resources at College of DuPage, DuPage County and the Internet. This assessment/system will provide our career specialist with knowledge and better understanding of their clients allowing for a more productive, action oriented career coaching sessions. You can re-take the assessment numerous times as they make progress and improvements in the seven key career transition areas identified.

The evaluation from a user’s perspective has been overwhelmingly positive. Users have indicated that they started the assessment with the mind set that it was just another assessment tool but were extremely impressed with the impact that CTA had in their job search process! First and foremost, the assessment quickly and efficiently summarizes the “hot spots” in their job search process. Both the job seeker and the career counselor can objectively identify areas that need immediate attention in order for the job search to be effective. Secondly, it accurately assesses their needs and lays out a personalized job search strategy. Most importantly, CTA provides hundreds of resources to assist with the career transition process. CTA is a living document whereby new and different resources will be added into the system. Job seekers can re-take the assessment and continue to refine their job search strategy until successful employment is gained!

The Impact of CTA:

• Improve the job search/career transition process through the seven identified areas
• Improve the quality of career coaching provided by the Career Specialist by standardizing and making the career counseling session more efficient and objective
• Increase the understanding and knowledge of what resources are available in assisting with career transition and with the job search process
