Phi Rho Pi Excursion

For those looking to enjoy the Windy City, we are glad to present our “Chicago Excursion Day” on Sunday, April 13. We have made arrangements for school bus transportation from Pheasant Run Resort to your choice of two of Chicago’s most exciting locations:
  • Explore Navy PierTHE spot to have a quintessential Chicago experience. Boat cruises, noted restaurants, shopping, some of the best views of the Chicago skyline, and other attractions can all be found there. For more information, check out their website (www.navypier.com).
OR
  • Take yourself out to the ballgame and cheer on the Chicago White Sox who will host the Detroit Tigers for a 1:05 p.m. game.

Participants should choose to do either Navy Pier or the White Sox game — not both. If they want to try to do it all, they would do so at their own risk and incur their own transportation costs downtown (bus, El, taxi, etc.).

Cost for round-trip school bus transportation is $7.00. The bus schedule is as follows:

  • 10 a.m.— Depart from Pheasant Run
  • 11 a.m.— Drop-off point #1, Navy Pier
  • 11:30 a.m. — Drop-off point #2, U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox
  • 4:30 p.m.— Pick-up from U.S. Cellular Field following the White Sox game
  • 5 p.m. — Pick-up from Navy Pier
  • Return to Pheasant Run — approximately 6 p.m.

Attraction and/or game tickets, food, and other costs would be the responsibility of individual participants.

LOOKING FOR A MORE ENHANCED, COST-EFFECTIVE EXPERIENCE?
If enough people are interested, group arrangements can be made for the following:

  • CHICAGO TROLLEY TOUR — Take a two-hour private bus tour and see all of the city’s most sought after attractions, including Sears Tower, Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile, and the Chicago Water Tower. Based on the number of interested participants, tickets can be as low as $10. Tour departs from Navy Pier. For more information, visit their website (www.coachusa.com/chicagotrolley).
  • UNTOUCHABLE GANSTER TOUR — Inspired by the tournament theme, take a private bus tour which will immerse you in Chicago as it was during the 1920s and 30s. Cruise the city in search of the old gangster hot spots and hit spots. Hear historically accurate accounts of the exploits of Capone, Dillinger, and the rest of “da boys.” Based on the number of participants, tickets can be as low as $20. Tour departs from Navy Pier. For more information, visit their website (www.gangstertour.com).
  • CHICAGO WHITE SOX GROUP TICKETS — Depending on the number of people interested, group tickets can be obtained for as low as $15.

If you are interested in any of the above, please submit the form below by Thursday, March 27 (the tournament entry deadline). Cancellations can be made up until Sunday, April 6, after which time all reservations are committed and payment will be required.

Payment should be in the form of a check made payable to College of DuPage and submitted to Steve Schroeder (tournament host) at tournament registration.

If enough people are interested in the trolley tour, Untouchables tour, or the White Sox game, you will be contacted with exact pricing and payment information.
