--Offers nice listing and some good discussions of oldies tunes, but Collins gets a number of facts wrong and takes an attitude of superiority toward the music he discusses.

Otfinoski, Steve.  The Golden Age of Novelty Songs.  New York:  Billboard, 2000.

--Good history and analysis of the novelty tradition.  Otfinoski, unlike Collins, registers an appreciation and love for his subject.
