Personal Profile of Instructor

My name is Tom Schultz. I am currently employed by the Lisle Woodridge Fire District and hold the commissioned rank of Captain. I started my full time firefighting career in 1982 and have worked my way up the ranks from firefighter, to firefighter/paramedic. I was then promoted to the rank of Lieutenant as an engine company officer and later to the rank of Captain, which is a multi-company officer assigned to a truck company.

 

 

 

I have an Associates Degree in Fire Science from the College of DuPage, an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Benedictine University. I hold various state certifications with the Office of Illinois State Fire Marshall, the highest being Fire Officer III.

I am currently teaching various Fire Officer Classes offered here at the College of DuPage, and was hired as the Assistant Fire Science Coordinator in May, 2005.
