Steps to check Classes/Seats Availability,
Instructor and Class Dates
Classes/Seats Availability:
1. Click on “Classes”
on the top menu bar at any C.O.D. web page
2. Click on the Class Schedule for the term of your choice.
3. On the Class Schedule screen, set up to three criteria for your search.
For example, select “HISTORY” in Curriculum, select “1130-U.S.
HISTORY TO 1865” in Course Number, and/or select “INTERNET” in
Categories. Click on Search
4. All classes meeting your search criteria are listed in this screen.
Locate your course and browse to the right side. Numbers under columns
named “Max
Seats” and “Seats Taken” tell you if you can still
register for the class. The word “Full” appears in the ”Seats
Taken” column if no seats remain. Remember, the system updates
every night, so in cases where only one or two seats are left, the class
may be full before you attempt to enroll. You will be told so when you
register online or by phone.
5. Check availability daily if the class is full but
you still want to get into it. Seats become available when others drop
the class. You can contact
the instructor and see if a permit for enrollment is possible.
If granted, the instructor can send the permit to the Registration Office
online.
Who is the instructor?
At Step 4 above, the instructor’s name is provided at the far right
column. If the name is underlined, it is linked to the faculty online
directory. You will find the instructor’s office location, phone
numbers, e-mail address and/or a link to his or her web site. You are
encouraged to visit your instructor’s
web site — you
may find a picture to help you “know” whom you will
be talking to for the rest of the semester.
When does the class start and end?
At Step 4 above, you will also find the official class start and stop
dates for your class. The college offers different sessions each
term with varying start and stop dates. Therefore, it is important
for you to know the exact dates of your class. Unless arrangements
are made between you and your instructor, you cannot access
your online course material until the first day of class.
